I had a Tarot deck once but the first card I pulled was The Devil card.?
Okay so my older sister got me into the whole Tarot readings and stuff from a young age and so she said I was going to be a very spiritual person like her one day. Well I bought a Tarot Card deck a while back and waited for the next morning when my mind was ready for such a thing. I know that a good mood effects such things. But when I pulled my very first card at random it turned out to be The Devil card. I didn’t think much of it at first and went through my day giving myself and my serious friends tarot readings. The readings turned out to be very precise and accurate. I was really happy. My sister might have been right about having a powerful spirit for this sort of thing. Well, later that day my teacher(A mega Catholic) said something about the cards being evil. this was nonsense to me because I grew up around that sort of thing. So, I went home and talked to my dad about it and he said using Tarot Cards are like using Ouija Boards. That they bring in evil entities and such and that i’m using the devils help to see into the future. This made me think about the time I pulled The Devil card. I was wondering if I should think of that as a bad omen or something. And I know its only a matter of opinion if they are evil or not between religions but truth me told I’m a little scared of Ouija Boards and bringing in evil whatever. So help if ya can. Shed some light upon this for me if you will.
P.S. I threw away the Tarot Cards after my father told me that as to close any doors I might have opened into the evil spirit realm or whatever. I really think they were awesome and I had no bad feelings what so ever about them.

It’s all bullshit, for lack of a better term. Just discard your worry and superstition about it.

Christians consider it immoral to seek supernatural assistance outside of God. According to those moral standards, any supernatural being that is not a servant of God is necessarily evil; at the very least, it smacks of idolatry; at the worst, it relies on the power of the Devil instead of the power of God….

Moon card eh? Cancer rules the Moon and they can handle money very well. It probably means you won’t have to worry much when it comes to financing.

The Moon is a warning that all is not what it seems.
It’s also a card of change.
http://phuture.me/the-moon

Also be careful that Tarot isn’t warning you of something else.

I’ve seen in my own readings, and readings of other people, Tarot trying to warn about something else and ignoring the question if there’s something more important you need to know.

Tarot card meaning?
In the spread are the 5 of wands, 5 of swords and 5 of cups…along with The Wheel of Fortune…

5 of sword is in the ‘central to the matter’ position…5 of wands in the ‘unseen influences’ position and 5 of cups in the ‘me as I really am’ position…The Wheel of Fortune is in the ‘as others see me’ position…

Any ideas? 3 of the 5 cards seems to be a message…

Thanks!

Suggestion by johndeand
you are quite right…. seeing those three cards is a strong message, and if those three and the wheel are the only four cards in the spread, it is a message you shouldn’t ignore.

the fives, in general in the tarot, are all about risk, chance, and possible loss.

the center of the matter position (five swords) is about risk (of course) and gloating a win or mourning a loss a bit more than you should… http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/s05.html

the unseen influences (five wands) are a potential fight in the future, but just a silly quabble that could possibly change everyone’s opinions about each other. http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/w05.html

you as you really are (five cups) is someone who thinks he/she has lost it all, but doesn’t realize there are two full cups behind him or her…!!! not everything’s over, not everything’s lost, you just need to realize it http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/c05.html

wheel in the as others see you position indicates they see you as a dynamic person, all over everywhere and quite fickle indeed…. make up your mind and take a stand. choose an alliance and stick with it!!!! =P http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/maj10.html

hope i helped and that’s a powerful reading…. i hope you keep a record of all your readings. it’s SO useful in the future (i can’t count the number of times i’ve referenced my recorded readings)

–edit– witchyme has a point about the multiple meanings…. but the only reason i gave these kind of generic meanings is because 1) i’m not familiar with the intricacies of that spread and 2) those cards in those positions are strange

but she’s right about a big change in the future…. though does that spread mention anything about the future in the layout of the cards’ places?

Suggestion by witchymel8
I do like John’s answer but I have found the tarot to have so many different meanings. 5 always represents change to me and to have it come up with the Wheel of Fortune points to a big change that’s outcome hasn’t been decided yet. The change can be good or bad but right now you are in a blessed moment where you can choose, depending on how and in which direction you direct your energy.

It sounds like a major life changing event coming up for you. I would study the meaning of the 5 of cups because that is probably where the key to making the change a good one is.

BTW, where any of the cards reversed?

How to Read tarot cards? what to do before a tarot card reading?
I wanna buy the Rider-Waite tarot deck. What can I do before a tarot reading& I heard you have 2 pray before a tarot reading. If u don’t what will happen? Advice?

Suggestion by thorndrose
Everyone has their own tarot ritual. Some have elaborate prayers and rituals. Me? I shuffle the cards while thinking about the seeker’s question. That’s it. The sky hasn’t fallen yet. 🙂

Suggestion by triviatm
Every tarot reader has their own way of preparing for a reading, and even their own belief about how it works. The person who told you that you have to pray probably uses that to help them focus their mind so that they can pick up the messages from the cards more easily. That’s the one thing that all tarot readers agree on, you have to focus your mind to read the cards.

Rider-Waite is a good, solid deck, and many of them are actually packaged with books of how to read the cards. You’ll want to experiment with different card layouts to see what works best for you – I usually use a 15-card layout, but that’s just what works for me. Many will use a 3- or 5 card layout with the cards in a row, others will use a cross formation, etc. You may also find that you don’t really connect with Rider-Waite, but find another deck easier to work with, or you may find that a layout that works with one deck doesn’t work with another.

Which all sounds really complicated but if you practice you’ll get it!

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19). http://peacewithgod.jesus.net/

Need help finding a specific tarot card deck..?
My step-mother bought me a deck of tarot card that I wanted. This was 7 years age and i can’t find them. I tried to look everywhere but all i get are pictures without a shred of hints as to who published them. I do longer live with her and it kinda had sentimental value, but buying a new deck would be better than nothing… Please help if you can. And also, no Religious biblical talk please. here’s a link to the picture of what it looks like. My step mom looks kinda like the world card, as far as the hair and face goes. http://www.google.com/images?q=the+world+tarot&um=1&hl=en&rlz=1R2ADSA_enUS406&tbs=isch:1,simg:CAESEgnsFsR8hs65nyFsagxioZuuVw&iact=hc&vpx=338&vpy=78&dur=1547&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=42&ty=367&ei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&oei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&page=1&tbnh=118&tbnw=65&ved=1t:722,r:3,s:0&biw=1003&bih=559
I’m sorry. Um… the deck that first appears is the actual deck. there are no links that lead to the deck. I tried to find a specific link to find it. I really wish i could be more descriptive or something but that’s the best i can do. I guess i was hoping someone had that type of deck too and would be able to tell me the publisher or author.. Wishful thinking huh? lol Thank you for trying though.

Suggestion by Brigid
I can’t say I’m familiar with that deck, but I will do what I can to find it.

Here is an amazing site that I love for looking at different decks. They have pictures and reviews of what I believe to be every tarot deck ever made including some that were never finished or published. If you ever decide you would like to buy a new deck (even if you find this one, a lot of people like having multiple decks) I would strongly recommend checking it out here first. This is something I say to everyone. They have great way of organizing them – theme, style, etc. as well as a general browse and search.

Generally, most modern decks (the common ones, at least) are published by Llewellyn. I do not believe this is one of their decks, but I will have a look at their site as well. For every deck they offer, their website has pictures and details about it. The same goes for tarot.com.

I do sincerely hope you find this deck, especially if it is an older one that is now out of print. The hassle I went through trying to get another Moon Oracle deck has made me understand how important it is to hang onto these things. 🙂

EDIT: This deck seems quite similar to the one shown. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/cachet/

The Tarot of the Old Path.
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tarot-of-the-old-path/

It’s a Wicca Tarot deck, although I’m not a wicca follower I love the imagery.

I think thats the important factor when choosing your deck.
You need to go with the one that feels right for you.

I like that the Tarot of the Old Path has “Temptation” instead of “The Devil”, “The Guide” instead of “Temperance”, “The Close” instead of “Death” and “Karma” instead of “Judgement”.

It’s a little less Christian in it’s symbology although The Lovers, which is probably the best I’ve seen, has more of an Adam and Eve theme than most other decks.
http://bbs.astrology.org.tw/tarots/fantasy/oldpath/OP_0_06.jpg
However it doesn’t have the serpent as you would see in the Rider-Waite-Smith Lovers
http://phuture.me/images/stories/TarotCards/rwlovers.jpg

The more you look at the imagery, learn the story and origins behind each picture, understand the numerology in numbering of the cards etc the more critically you can look at Tarot decks and the more you can divine when using them.

Check out the local new age bookstores…you can look at a lot of decks on the site below and also, order from there, if you wish…

I dont know about las vegas exactly – but i know every major bookstore now stocks them and a variety of them aswell. Otherwise, i would suggest buying from a reputable seller on the net, or looking up in local yellow pages for – “new age” listings, which may give you a selection of magick stores in your area, from which you should be able to procure many a selection of tarot cards and other paraphenalia. if you are novice, i suggest the “Rider thwaite” pack, as its symbols are easier seen, than it would be in say an artistic pack.

Tarot Card Interpretation & Meaning – King Of Cups
King Of Cups

Introduction: The King of Cups speaks of balanced male and feminine energy; he holds all the positive qualities of both masculine and feminine. Often he indicates a literal man in your life. Usually, when he represents a ‘live person’, he’s referring to a very kind and loving man, who will generally have hair on the lighter end of the spectrum. Know that you are supported by the universe, in ways seen and unseen, when he appears.

General: In general the King of Cups represents kindness and compassion. There is an element of pure and true love in your life no matter what your situation when he appears. Nurture yourself, and allow others to nurture you, when you receive this card in a reading.

Work: In the context of work, this card usually points to a male boss or co-worker who is very much “on your team.” Don’t hesitate to ask him for support if you need it. If you’re wondering how others feel about you at work when the King comes up, know that they appreciate and respect you and your work more than you know. Things are likely to be improving at work when the king appears.

Love: With regard to “love questions,” when the King appears, the news is very good. There are few cards that are more loving than the king of Cups. If you are looking for love, this can indicate someone who is very balanced and loving headed your way soon. The suits in the tarot are not infallible when it comes to indication of physical characteristics but in general the Cups/Cups will indicate people with hair/coloring on the lighter end of the spectrum. The king bodes well regarding love.

Finances: The king of Cups can indicate a need to face the music financially. Don’t avoid the reality of your financial situation. He also can point you to a need to be generous no matter how tight your financial situations might be. No matter how modest your situation is, there is doubtless something that you can and should share with others, even if it’s “only” an object or your time. This can often “open up” more prosperity in our lives. Give with kindness and compassion, and know that what goes around always comes around. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it.

Health: With regard to health questions, particularly if you are under a doctors’ care, the king reminds us to trust that the healers in our lives are there for a reason. The king can indicate good health news, and trusTworthy advisors/healers (particularly male ones.) Treat your body with care and compassion. Pay attention to what you are bringing into your body and your surroundings when the King appears.

Spirituality: With regard to spirituality, the King can be on the face of it somewhat contradictory, as he combines the generally feminine qualities of compassion, love, and concern, with the male energy of action, accomplishment, and discernment. Meditate on these combinations, and take action. How can you be compassionately active? How can you be loving and still draw boundaries? Start by drawing boundaries for yourself before you consider taking boundaries to others. “Walking meditations” are good and bring insight when this King appears.
