Everyone has their own tarot ritual. Some have elaborate prayers and rituals. Me? I shuffle the cards while thinking about the seeker’s question. That’s it. The sky hasn’t fallen yet. 🙂

Every tarot reader has their own way of preparing for a reading, and even their own belief about how it works. The person who told you that you have to pray probably uses that to help them focus their mind so that they can pick up the messages from the cards more easily. That’s the one thing that all tarot readers agree on, you have to focus your mind to read the cards.
Rider-Waite is a good, solid deck, and many of them are actually packaged with books of how to read the cards. You’ll want to experiment with different card layouts to see what works best for you – I usually use a 15-card layout, but that’s just what works for me. Many will use a 3- or 5 card layout with the cards in a row, others will use a cross formation, etc. You may also find that you don’t really connect with Rider-Waite, but find another deck easier to work with, or you may find that a layout that works with one deck doesn’t work with another.
Which all sounds really complicated but if you practice you’ll get it!

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.
But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.
My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.
Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19). http://peacewithgod.jesus.net/

Tarot cards have no factual meaning.
It is just superstition.
Need help finding a specific tarot card deck..?
My step-mother bought me a deck of tarot card that I wanted. This was 7 years age and i can’t find them. I tried to look everywhere but all i get are pictures without a shred of hints as to who published them. I do longer live with her and it kinda had sentimental value, but buying a new deck would be better than nothing… Please help if you can. And also, no Religious biblical talk please. here’s a link to the picture of what it looks like. My step mom looks kinda like the world card, as far as the hair and face goes. http://www.google.com/images?q=the+world+tarot&um=1&hl=en&rlz=1R2ADSA_enUS406&tbs=isch:1,simg:CAESEgnsFsR8hs65nyFsagxioZuuVw&iact=hc&vpx=338&vpy=78&dur=1547&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=42&ty=367&ei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&oei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&page=1&tbnh=118&tbnw=65&ved=1t:722,r:3,s:0&biw=1003&bih=559
I’m sorry. Um… the deck that first appears is the actual deck. there are no links that lead to the deck. I tried to find a specific link to find it. I really wish i could be more descriptive or something but that’s the best i can do. I guess i was hoping someone had that type of deck too and would be able to tell me the publisher or author.. Wishful thinking huh? lol Thank you for trying though.

I can’t say I’m familiar with that deck, but I will do what I can to find it.
Here is an amazing site that I love for looking at different decks. They have pictures and reviews of what I believe to be every tarot deck ever made including some that were never finished or published. If you ever decide you would like to buy a new deck (even if you find this one, a lot of people like having multiple decks) I would strongly recommend checking it out here first. This is something I say to everyone. They have great way of organizing them – theme, style, etc. as well as a general browse and search.
Generally, most modern decks (the common ones, at least) are published by Llewellyn. I do not believe this is one of their decks, but I will have a look at their site as well. For every deck they offer, their website has pictures and details about it. The same goes for tarot.com.
I do sincerely hope you find this deck, especially if it is an older one that is now out of print. The hassle I went through trying to get another Moon Oracle deck has made me understand how important it is to hang onto these things. 🙂
EDIT: This deck seems quite similar to the one shown. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/cachet/
