Do you need some sort of degree before you start professionlly reading palms, tarot cards, etc?
Just out of curiosity. Can people really just put a sign on their house and charge people for readings?

Suggestion by A Canadian Atheist
Sure, con artists have been doing it for a very long time.
And you don’t need a degree, just a totall lack of morals, scruples and a desire to bilk gullible people out of their cash by convincing them that printed cardstock, can somehow, tell the future.

Suggestion by Gary B
That is EXACLLTY what con artists, thieves, and crackpots do.

Maybe you should look into a degree in CARDiology???

The only thing you need is the proper Business License required by the state or city. Most location WILL NOT allow you to run a “walk-in” business from your house. That is, you can’t have a business where customers come into your house in a residential neighborhood (you CAN run something like a mail-order business out of your spare bedroom, though). You must obtain any special “Zoning Variations” as required by the city or state.

How important is it to pray for protection before conducting a tarot reading?
I’ve seen this mentioned in several documents, answers, as advice, but have never seen people in real life actually do this. Sometimes praying, sometimes people recommend “visualizing a golden light” before a reading.

What is the purpose behind doing this?
What are the readers are protecting themselves from?

Suggestion by APRIL
By not praying for protection spirits can attach onto you. Some say getting a reading opens the door to the spirit world so by visualizing a white/golden light protects you from evil spirits and the light represents God’s love.

Suggestion by Tee
i think that is more for mediums than tarot readers. if you have read allan Kardec’s books you should know about this. He says to pray before doing a reading. But he is all about the spirits and mediums. His books are used by people spiritism practitioners. It is like the Bible of Spiritism.

edit: you have recommended it yourself that meditation, and calm are good. so prayer might just be a way to achieve that. though, some call it ” protection”.

to the TD’s: i dont care how much TD as long as you TD or TU me, your still voting for me. and guess what? i think i got the most votes for this question!

Suggestion by Sad Ang3l
I think that it is important to visulise a bright white light surrounding you for protection before tarot readings as it protects you from negative energy and spirits if you believe in that sort of thing which I have a strong belief in as well as angels. This is the purpose of it.

Do you need a tarot Reading to answer any of your questions?
I am a certified tarot reader. I am willing to answer your questions using the tarot.

Suggestion by areelitaha joahlanski
Yes. Learning & understanding about tarot is a good thing in your future. Nowadays dangerous things will happen any where or any time. So before you do something if you know the real fact of the operation & out come of the result then you have prepared for current & future life.

Hi Glenda,

I’ve been trying to figure out how to bring together readers and people wanting readings.
So far my efforts have led me to creating a directory on my divinatory arts web site:
http://phuture.me/
Feel free to add yourself to the Tarot Readers section in the Directory, it’s free for both readers and clients to use.

I’m considering extending it to allow people to do their own tarot spreads and then pay for a reader to do the interpretations. I’ve had requests for this.

hope you find it of interest,
George

How to Read tarot cards? what to do before a tarot card reading?
I wanna buy the Rider-Waite tarot deck. What can I do before a tarot reading& I heard you have 2 pray before a tarot reading. If u don’t what will happen? Advice?

Suggestion by thorndrose
Everyone has their own tarot ritual. Some have elaborate prayers and rituals. Me? I shuffle the cards while thinking about the seeker’s question. That’s it. The sky hasn’t fallen yet. 🙂

Every tarot reader has their own way of preparing for a reading, and even their own belief about how it works. The person who told you that you have to pray probably uses that to help them focus their mind so that they can pick up the messages from the cards more easily. That’s the one thing that all tarot readers agree on, you have to focus your mind to read the cards.

Rider-Waite is a good, solid deck, and many of them are actually packaged with books of how to read the cards. You’ll want to experiment with different card layouts to see what works best for you – I usually use a 15-card layout, but that’s just what works for me. Many will use a 3- or 5 card layout with the cards in a row, others will use a cross formation, etc. You may also find that you don’t really connect with Rider-Waite, but find another deck easier to work with, or you may find that a layout that works with one deck doesn’t work with another.

Which all sounds really complicated but if you practice you’ll get it!

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19). http://peacewithgod.jesus.net/

Need help finding a specific tarot card deck..?
My step-mother bought me a deck of tarot card that I wanted. This was 7 years age and i can’t find them. I tried to look everywhere but all i get are pictures without a shred of hints as to who published them. I do longer live with her and it kinda had sentimental value, but buying a new deck would be better than nothing… Please help if you can. And also, no Religious biblical talk please. here’s a link to the picture of what it looks like. My step mom looks kinda like the world card, as far as the hair and face goes. http://www.google.com/images?q=the+world+tarot&um=1&hl=en&rlz=1R2ADSA_enUS406&tbs=isch:1,simg:CAESEgnsFsR8hs65nyFsagxioZuuVw&iact=hc&vpx=338&vpy=78&dur=1547&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=42&ty=367&ei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&oei=WrxxTfPkHY_0tgPp6dXHCw&page=1&tbnh=118&tbnw=65&ved=1t:722,r:3,s:0&biw=1003&bih=559
I’m sorry. Um… the deck that first appears is the actual deck. there are no links that lead to the deck. I tried to find a specific link to find it. I really wish i could be more descriptive or something but that’s the best i can do. I guess i was hoping someone had that type of deck too and would be able to tell me the publisher or author.. Wishful thinking huh? lol Thank you for trying though.

Suggestion by man in a mouse suit
the link you gave gives a goole image page of tons of different tarot decks. give me a link to one specific deck.

Suggestion by Brigid
I can’t say I’m familiar with that deck, but I will do what I can to find it.

Here is an amazing site that I love for looking at different decks. They have pictures and reviews of what I believe to be every tarot deck ever made including some that were never finished or published. If you ever decide you would like to buy a new deck (even if you find this one, a lot of people like having multiple decks) I would strongly recommend checking it out here first. This is something I say to everyone. They have great way of organizing them – theme, style, etc. as well as a general browse and search.

Generally, most modern decks (the common ones, at least) are published by Llewellyn. I do not believe this is one of their decks, but I will have a look at their site as well. For every deck they offer, their website has pictures and details about it. The same goes for tarot.com.

I do sincerely hope you find this deck, especially if it is an older one that is now out of print. The hassle I went through trying to get another Moon Oracle deck has made me understand how important it is to hang onto these things. 🙂

EDIT: This deck seems quite similar to the one shown. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/cachet/

i applyed online for the babyphat one , after reading all the stuff that came with i was sorta spectkical and deciding i didnt want it by that time it was too late… so im wondering if theres a way i can cancel it before gettin it mailed tryed calling customer service but they wont pick up ? i dont feel safe them having my social.s number either

Suggestion by Steve D
Nothing you can do about the social security number. Assuming you even get approved, you need to call the customer service number tomorrow and cancel it before its mailed – once it is mailed, you will be getting the card.

Suggestion by a_non_ah_mus
dont worry. when it arrives dont activate it and call to cancel.

Suggestion by coraann
The best thing to do would be to just let it come to you and do not activate it.

Can I use my Comdata Cirrus Debit Card to order things online?
, as if it were an American Express card?

I read somewhere that it was owned by American Express, but Idk.
I got this card from working at Jack in the Box. Thanks in advance!

Suggestion by gpatrick900
Not really. However, you might be able to use it to pay a bill.

That is if the place does not require a expiration date for pinless bill payment and the biller takes maestro pinless payments.

You don’t not enter your pin when paying online. CVV number on the back if it has one, is ok.
