What would be the best set of Tarot Cards?
I know basically nothing about tarot cards, so if someone could clarify the fact that some tarot cards seemed to be named different types of sets. For example: Egyptian, White, Goddess, Gypsy Witch, etc, etc.
So what’s the deal? And which set do you prefer?

The tarot has been around for a long time, at least since the Middle Ages, so there are a lot of different decks. If you are new to the Tarot, you might want to start with a classic deck, such as the Rider-Waite deck. Buy yourself a good book, and learn the basics. I recommend Joan Bunning’s website, www.learntarot.com.
After you know the basics, many tarot decks would be suitable. The key is to pick a deck that you feel connected to. That means enjoying the art of that particular deck.
I hope this is helpful.

Try checking out the website below. It lists hundreds of tarot decks, information about the making of the deck, historical associations, etc. My first deck was the Medieval Scapini. I really liked it, because the book it came with gave several meanings for each card and my readings were quite accurate! I gave it away a few years ago when I felt like I was using them too much. Then recently I decided to purchase a new deck. The website below helped me to choose, and I chose the Touchstone Tarot by Kat Black. It is beautiful. I haven’t used it much, but the first reading I did for myself seemed accurate and helpful.
There are many different themes for tarot deck artwork, influenced by different cultures. You can browse through a bunch that call to you and narrow it down to the one you like best. I got this book called “The Tarot: History, Symbolism and Divination” by Robert M. Place (used copy on amazon.com). I agree with the first answer that the Rider-Waite deck is often recommended for a first deck. Try checking out a few books from your library to learn the meanings of the cards and various spreads.
Hope this helps. 🙂

that stuff doesn’t really work, however a lot believe that if you pray or talk to ur dead relatives before sleep, they can talk to you in your dreams.
Where in a bookstore can i find tarot cards?
I really want to buy some and im thinking about buying a book on tarot card/reading too.
Suggestion by nickipettis
only a few bookstores carry Tarot cards.
Try a new age bookstore, an old fashioned head shop, a feminist bookstore, or amazon.com.

They, most bookstores don’t stock many cards, anymore.
Maybe an occult shop.
Better yet, for large selection, go to

They can be good meditative devices.
don’t get crazy and over consult.
plus you have free will, and can change anything, by changing your decision, actions, habits,

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.
But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.
My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.
Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19).
