Should Tarot cards be sold in the USA for playing actual card games?
In European countries such as France, there are Tarot cards sold to play actual card games similar to Spades and Bridge. According to most historians, Tarot cards were originally intended for card games and not for divination. However in countries such as the US, Tarot cards are only sold for fortune telling purposes and most Americans only associate Tarot with divination. Do you believe this situation should change? Would you play actual card games with Tarot? Should Tarot publishers supply game rules with Tarot decks?

Suggestion by dragonlady
I use tarot cards for divination and I don’t think they should be used for a game. Tarot cards have a different energy than regular playing cards do and it wouldn’t be a good idea. Tarot cards today are different than Tarot cards in history, they like everything else have evolved.

Suggestion by Lykaios
I agree, tarot cards are not for game play. They have a purpose and any use outside that purpose will foul them for their intended use. Other than when you are told by the reader to shuffle/cut/select the cards no one but the reader(owner) of the deck should handle them as this will allow them to absorb energies from outside sources and make it hard on the owner to get a proper reading from them.

Suggestion by Lillith
As a tarot reader, I would love to have instructions for the game Tarocci (sp?). I love to play cards, in any shape or form.
Any cards, anything as that goes, can be used for divination.
Situation change? well, add instructions for the game, but don’t exclude the divination use of the cards.

How can i start using tarot cards?
I’ve recently started to get interested in tarot cards, but honestly i dont know where to get started and i have many questions.
1.are tarot cards “evil” in any way?
2.where can i learn how to use them and buy a deck
3.is there anything i should know before i look further into this interest?

Suggestion by natasha
Tarot cards are not evil at all. They are a tool to help in a psychic reading. They can help you strengthen your gift because the cards never lie. Meaning that the are highly accurate. You can buy some from a metaphysical shop or a book store like Barnes and Nobel. When you get your cards you should be the only one who touch them. Only your energy needs to be on the cards. You can use them on family and friends to practice. When I brought my first deck I slept with them under my pillow at night. That helps seal your energy in your cards to get an accurate reading. Tarot cards are not toys or a game. They are tools of deviation. Just have a clear mind and be serious about this art. You will be fine.

It is bliss to buy psychic ability!

I’ve been to a place that prints these cards, the company I work for sells playing cards wholesale. Not all of them of course because there are many styles of decks. They have do some impressive artwork, and there is one that goes along with the vampire craze.

So what make them so special compared to other printed items? Is it the cardboard? The inks? Both? Well I’ll tell you a true story.

The cardboard comes from trees from a secret magic forest in Austria. During WW2 none of this wood got to the USA, as the Nazis used it themselves. But what they lacked was quality ink and Hitler’s people had poor results. The best magic ink is made in the USA and trades on the market at about $ 133.00 per gallon. That is why the cards cost so much. Also there is a lot of quality control. The cards get tested by groups of elves to make sure that when used, randomness is not an issue.

Unless they are printed in China. They use plain cardboard and regular inks. These will result in random spreads every time. So buy American and spend lots of money on lots of decks. And don’t forget the velvet pouches to store them. Spend more money.

I created a section on my web site for exactly this.
I wrote a series of articles on how to learn to interpret Tarot cards here:

Then I added an online virtual Tarot deck to allow people to do Tarot without owning cards.
I’ve found that it is just as valid and accurate as using real cards.
It’s really good for learning and practising spreads and has interactive help with the card meanings.

The “magic” of Tarot is in you, not in those pieces of cardboard!

The online Tarot deck can be found here:

How do you cleanse tarot cards without using water?
I’ve been looking for a cleansing and blessing ritual for a deck of tarot cards, and I’ve noticed that a lot of the better, more ornate ones suggest that you cleanse the cards with water. How would you be able to do this since the cards ARE paper and water tends to damage paper goods? Just something I’ve always wondered about.

Suggestion by Abomination of Desolation
All decks of cards produced in the last 50 or so years have a thin layer of wax or plastic on them. Unless you are dousing them, it won’t actually affect them.

Suggestion by Jesus loves Commies
Smoke marijuana in a bong and blow the pot smoke that has been through the water onto the cards

How about just burn them and take charge of your life?

Would it be a bad idea to start playing with an Ouija board or Tarot cards?

Would it be a bad idea to start playing with an Ouija board or Tarot cards?
My preoccupation with the future has led me to this question. Christians say those are tools of the devil. Is it evil to go searching for the future?

Suggestion by Saint Onle
In the sense that you are wasting your money on useless crap … yes.

Suggestion by Corey
No, it’s not evil. But if you’re trying to get predictions of the future, it will be a waste of time. Ouija board, at best, just let’s you find out what your subconscious mind is thinking, if you’re unable to figure it out on your own. Tarot, at best, is a catalyst to think about a question in a new way.

Suggestion by I’m on a mission from God
I wouldn’t only because you’ll be wasting time and money, and most likely feel pretty stupid afterwards.

Nothing will happen.

What do these 3 tarot cards mean together?
I was doing a reading about a relationship regarding how someone feels about me, and it was supposed to be only one card but these 3 jumped out… The star, the empress, and then the five of wands. Thanks for your help 🙂

Suggestion by Tea
The Star card says that you probably already have a good idea about how this person feels about you…it’s staring you right in the face. Your gut feeling is right.

The Empress suggests that this person finds you very attractive and/or charming.

However, the 5 of Wands indicates that this person may think you can be a little difficult or confrontational sometimes.

How to read tarot cards?
I’m learning how to read tarot cards. Tarot cards have different meanings if they’re placed right side up or reversed. If you’re giving a tarot reading to someone else, is the “reversed” card meaning it’s reversed for the person you’re reading it to, or is it reversed when you see it?

Suggestion by Liberal Asskickers Nightmare
Oh that’s a real toughy, that is.

Suggestion by CC
When the reader accepts the deck that has been shuffled by the questioner, the reader makes sure to maintain the correct orientation of the deck so as to properly read the “reversed” cards, as they would appear “reversed” to the questioner.

Suggestion by moddy almondy
Reversed = opposite meaning.

Q&A: Writing on fortune teller’s playing cards?

Writing on fortune teller’s playing cards?
I was talking to my friend the other day and fortune telling came up in our conversation and she said her aunt was a fortune teller, and she was one of the best of the best. I asked her what was the fortune telling tool she used, she said a deck of cards, I asked tarot and she said no, just an ordinary deck of playing cards, but her aunt had written something on each card(On the top and bottom, i think). i asked my friend if she knew what she wrote on the cards, but she was really young at the time and can’t remember. Her aunt died years ago and my friend said that in her will she wanted the cards to be buried with her and they were… so, does anyone out there know what my friends fortune telling aunt might have written on her cards? Thanks 😀
Oh, here is some stuff my friend said her aunt could do. She told me how a woman came to her to get her fortune told and did the shuffling of the cards routine, and the aunt said that the woman would get an important letter in the mail the next day and even gave her the time, and she was 100% right. She also said her aunt could forecast the weather, exactly what your future holds, what the past held, “read minds”, tell locations, tell a baby’s gender and with excruciating detail who someone was going to fall in love with/marry (she couldn’t give names but only features, clothes and personality) and all sorts of other stuff, all with the cards. she said her aunt didn’t want people to become dependant on her fortunes so she had a strict limit of 1 reading and 2 questions per person every other day , and she did it all for free.

Suggestion by Pam Richards
Hello Jerry

What ever was on them would have been personal to her. It could have been something as simple as U for upright & R for reversed, to what ever she felt each one of her cards meant to her.

Is there really such a thing as a free reverse cell phone # search??
I was told there were free online sites in which you can search cell phone numbers for free but all i found is ones that cost a fortune. If anyone knows of any that will not charge please let me know!!!

Suggestion by Joe C

Sometimes it will give you the name of the user, but most of the time it will just say whether it’s cell or not.

Suggestion by Inuyasha (12NI)
No. There are NO free reverse lookups for cell phones. There is not a directory for cell phones like there is for land line phones. Cell phones are meant to be private lines.

how do i get a free documentation that a kate spade purse I bought is not authentic?
i recently purchased what i thought were going to be authentic kate spade purses on ebay and when they arrived they were fakes. i can tell by lokking but to file a claim with ebay and paypal to get a portion of my money back i need a document from a third party stating these are not authentic. i do not have a kate spade store near my home, and do not want to spend a fortune getting this certificate. anyone know of how to get a free one?

Suggestion by blzabobb
try e-mailing katespade.com . I have used this web site and they have responded very well to my questions… I would be soooo mad if i were you GOOD LUCK

Suggestion by Krystal W
Most places like Neiman Marcus, Saks, Vuitton, Gucci, & Kate Spade will not issue ANY form of it being fake or real period. I had this problem with a Gucci bag and no one would issue anything. Try calling a kate spade boutique. I know there is one in Houston to see if they can suggest anything. Unfortunately you might be out the money if eBay refuses to do anything if you need that certificate. The only thing to do is to hurt their business by posting Negative feedback.

Pagan related… What is a cool tarot card deck ?
I’m looking at paganism, and I’m interested in cool tarot card decks like: mystical creatures, (angels and demons), aliens.. Etc

Do you know of any decks that sound similar to what I like?

Suggestion by WiccaTeen
your most likely gonna want a basi deck to start off with, some that have the meanings on them that way you can learn the meaning and progress to a standard deck, if your looking down the pagan deck i would use a nature based deck.

Suggestion by ℒ’amour est ℒe chaos
Tarot is related to occultism and divination tools, not so much paganism

I like the Robin Wood deck personally

just go through that sites directory they have every deck listed by category

What is your favorite Tarot card deck to use for divination?

Suggestion by believer_in_jesus37421
Dear Emily,

Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it’s easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don’t be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists … should not a people inquire of their God?” (Isaiah 8:19).

How do u read Tarot Cards or Deck of Playing Cards?
Please tell me how do u read tarot card’s. I also heard that u can use a deck of playing cards and if u can how do u read those??????

Suggestion by justbeingher
There is no way to give such a detailed answer on here. Get a book on Tarot and study the cards. It’s fun.

Suggestion by silverdolffyn
It’s a little more involved than something you can plonk onto a message board. It takes a lot of study, meditation and focus-work as well as patience. I’ve never used a regular card deck, only tarot decks – but I suggest you start out with a “gentle” deck like the Connolly deck or the Robin Wood deck – find one that has images that are pleasing to you and that you feel drawn to – don’t just pick a deck off the shelf and call it good. There’s a fair amount of info on www.witchvox.com and readers and info on the e-list and website www.witchgrove.org but I’ll warn you now: These folks take it seriously and will expect you to do the same if you’re really wanting to learn.

Can Tarot Cards be passed down to the next generation?
my mom has a deck that she keeps in her night stand and she has had them for about 31 years… do you think, since she doesnt use them anymore, that they can be passed on to the next generation?

Suggestion by valhall13
Absolutely, my husband has his mothers deck.

Suggestion by Todd
that’s how true tarots usually function, but you also have to realize that there is a tradition of ‘having your own deck’

Suggestion by Citrine Dream
As long as you take very good care of them. Cards can be more fragile the older they get.
