I need a simple Tarot Card Spread that i can use for performing readings for other people?
I don’t need it to be complicated at all as i am very new to this, it would be nice if it would be a very general spread that could answer a variety of questions someone might have.
Suggestion by vid One of the best and easiest spreads for answering questions is the Past, Present, and Future spread. It’s a three card spread and the first card is laid to the left–past–the middle card–present–and the card to the right is the future. This can answer a variety of questions and shows the person’s past on the matter, present, and future. It’s also best to add a timeframe to the question so they know that the card for the future will happen within that timeframe.
Tarot card spread for someone who has died?
Im trying to focus on a friend of mine who has recently passed away, i just want to know if he is in a safe place and maybe bring some understanding to why things happened the way they did when he passed away. If any one knows a good spread for this i would be very grateful. Thanks!
Suggestion by vamp boy This will not work because the tarot tell the future and someone who is dead has none.
Suggestion by Athena I think you might be better off trying to use a ouija board for that. I am sorry for your loss and i hope you find what you are looking for.

Tarot Card Spread unsure of meaning can anyone help?
i have had quite a few readings before i got cards and i did the cross of truth spread. the question i thought of was just if ill be in a relationship again in the near future.
1st card 6 of wands
3rd The fool
4th The Star
5th The Empress
i used gilded tarot cards.
Suggestion by IceFire I think yes. 6 of Wands = Victory. Temperance tells you to wait patiently and it will come, The Fool says don’t be afraid to go for it. The Star gives you hope and the Empress gives abundance. Overall, you will be successful.
Suggestion by Rev. Lynn D. Wow, great cards. Yes you certainly will. Be patient for the right person to come into your life. Don’t let past experiences cause you to be afraid to try again with someone new. Believe and have hope for a new bright future.
If you want to have a child, then that is possible. The Empress is fertility so if you don’t want a child, be aware of that.
Tarot card reading…already have the spread, card, & meaning laid out. Can someone give me an indepth reading?
I did a Past Life spread and have some questions.
I tend to scribble notes down of what the card means as I go, so I’ll just put that down as well.
But I wish that someone could and would explain this more. I know I can go and look up in depth meanings of each card, but the cards are all connected. I hope someone can connect them for me.
1. Basic soul nature coming into this past life.
Queen of Swords Reversed
maintain mental balance and you will know the truth. Clarity and focus even amidst doubt, distraction, and confusion.
Ace of cups
sign of new beginnings
3. Early years.
9 of Wands Reversed
extreme difficulty or stress to contend with
Knight of Cups Reversed
experiencing a negative reaction to the increased demands of the world upon you; passive person being pushed towards action or commitment and you do not like it; slow emotional growth or developing too fast.
Knight of Swords
events happening quickly/out of the blue. Risk of chaos unless someone is there to take control
is deeply connected spiritually to know how we find the meaning of life. Awareness of other dimension to life; a realization we are all bound to one another in some sense.–Spiritual advisor, teacher.
7. Social status.
Page of Swords Reversed
acting without thinking; letting immediate desires seduce; overly dependent; exaggerated emotional outbursts
3 or Swords

12. Lessons learned during this past life #2.
5 of Swords
Walk away from destructive situations, as you are most certainly fighting a losing battle.
13. How this past life affects querent’s current life #1.
Transition of life [I’m really not sure of this one.]
14. How this past life affects querent’s current life #2.
5 of Cups
much deeper narrowing pain. [I also am not completely sure about this]
It sounds like this past life of mine had it a little rough. Is that why I got the 5 of Cups for the 14th card?
Also, I’m not sure if the Death card is just straight forward or if it means a transition of life.
There are some similarities in my past life that have not changed. In the Page of Swords, I act without thinking a lot. But how is that under social status? [#7]
Also, the Knight of Cups Reversed for Education.I tend to push against society and what it excepts of me…But sometimes I feel myself becoming passive about all of it…and life. So my soul has always been resistant to the demands of the world? Am I supposed to change that? [#4]
The Hierophant for occupation. As a Taoist, does this mean I was spiritually aware then? Did I carry some of the same belief then? Does that all in a sense mean I could be closer to enlightenment if my soul is aware?
Just, if someone can go in depth and explain each card and what it means when next to the next card.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Daniel, we have different religions and different beliefs. I respect yours. Now please, respect mine.
Suggestion by Daniel wtf? why did you write this longwinded book? and: anything to to with tarot cards or astrology is evil
Suggestion by General D. Ypsilanti Wish I could tell you more, but I have to go see a friend when I have
my cards read. I don’t find it evil at all,
but usually quite helpful.
Astrology is another big help to me. I figure
if it was good enough for famous Psychiatrist
Carl Jung to use as a shortcut to understand his
patients, it can help me too.

Suggestion by Jen Tarot Card Interpretation & Meaning – King Of Cups
King Of Cups
Introduction: The King of Cups speaks of balanced male and feminine energy; he holds all the positive qualities of both masculine and feminine. Often he indicates a literal man in your life. Usually, when he represents a ‘live person’, he’s referring to a very kind and loving man, who will generally have hair on the lighter end of the spectrum. Know that you are supported by the universe, in ways seen and unseen, when he appears.
General: In general the King of Cups represents kindness and compassion. There is an element of pure and true love in your life no matter what your situation when he appears. Nurture yourself, and allow others to nurture you, when you receive this card in a reading.
Work: In the context of work, this card usually points to a male boss or co-worker who is very much “on your team.” Don’t hesitate to ask him for support if you need it. If you’re wondering how others feel about you at work when the King comes up, know that they appreciate and respect you and your work more than you know. Things are likely to be improving at work when the king appears.
Love: With regard to “love questions,” when the King appears, the news is very good. There are few cards that are more loving than the king of Cups. If you are looking for love, this can indicate someone who is very balanced and loving headed your way soon. The suits in the tarot are not infallible when it comes to indication of physical characteristics but in general the Cups/Cups will indicate people with hair/coloring on the lighter end of the spectrum. The king bodes well regarding love.
Finances: The king of Cups can indicate a need to face the music financially. Don’t avoid the reality of your financial situation. He also can point you to a need to be generous no matter how tight your financial situations might be. No matter how modest your situation is, there is doubtless something that you can and should share with others, even if it’s “only” an object or your time. This can often “open up” more prosperity in our lives. Give with kindness and compassion, and know that what goes around always comes around. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
Health: With regard to health questions, particularly if you are under a doctors’ care, the king reminds us to trust that the healers in our lives are there for a reason. The king can indicate good health news, and trusTworthy advisors/healers (particularly male ones.) Treat your body with care and compassion. Pay attention to what you are bringing into your body and your surroundings when the King appears.
Spirituality: With regard to spirituality, the King can be on the face of it somewhat contradictory, as he combines the generally feminine qualities of compassion, love, and concern, with the male energy of action, accomplishment, and discernment. Meditate on these combinations, and take action. How can you be compassionately active? How can you be loving and still draw boundaries? Start by drawing boundaries for yourself before you consider taking boundaries to others. “Walking meditations” are good and bring insight when this King appears.

what cards do you use for the celtic cross card spread tarot game?
im just learning how to use tarot cards. i dont know which cards to use for the celtic cross card spread tarot game. okay there are cards in my deck with only pictures and no words. most of the pictures have swards. im not sure if i use these im the celtic cross game. does anyone know?
Suggestion by Cheryl E You can use any deck for the celtic cross spread. The “classic” deck is the Rider-Waite, but there are hundreds of others. Get yourself a good book on tarot interpretation.
Suggestion by carmen c There is a really good book called Tarot In 10 Minutes by R.T. Kasser. Get it its amazing and will answer all your tarot needs
Suggestion by Rachel_S165 IIRC, you use the entire deck. Choose one of the court cards (Page, Knight, Queen or King of one of the 4 suits — Pentacles, Cups, Swords, or Wands) as the significator to represent the person asking the question. then have the questioner shuffle the deck, and deal out the 10 cards for the Celtic Cross spread.
BTW, its not a “game”.

Is there a website where I can input the Tarot cards that came up in a spread and tell me the interpretation?
I’ve been studying the tarot off and on for a few years now and i have a really difficult time intrepreting an entire spread. Individual card interpretations are easy, but how they relate to each other and the overall meaning of the spread is very difficult for me to determine. Also have you ever noticed that every tarot book seems to have a different order of cards with the celtic cross spread? This is the spread that i have the most difficulty with.
I use the Robin Wood deck, if that helps.
Please help, thank you.
for instance, here is a spread i just did…
1. Judgement (r)
3. Knight of cups (r)
4. 7 of swords
5. Wheel of fortune (r)
6. 10 of cups
7. 9 of pentacles
8. hanged man
9. king of wands
10. ace of cups
What is the overall meaning behind this spread?
lol # 2 is supposed to be “temperance, sorry
Suggestion by Yogi throw the book away, would be my first advise.
we call it a reading because the cards tell you something.
you need to learn to listen to what the cards are telling you. and they will tell you what they represent in the locations that they fall into. there are traditional meanings associated with the cards. but they cannot explain or cover every possibility.
seriously listen to the cards. meditate with them. simply spend some time each day looking at the picture and the cards will take on meanings of their own for you.
do this and you will find your readings becoming more accurate.
Suggestion by Terry There are literally hundreds of Decks and thousands of spreads. Each can pass information or intuitions to the person using the deck. That makes remote readings difficult or impossible.
I use several decks and a multicircle spread for all of them. If your spread is not working for you after years, I’d move on to some others.
Suggestion by <3 <3 I believe there is, but you have to pay
Do you believe in tarot cards from the store?
I did a tarot card reading on myself and its all negative comments, feedback.
Suggestion by Phoebe How can a card tell you about your life and future?! I mean c’mon really! Are you going to base your feelings and decisions on what some pictures on a card ‘say’. Live your life one day at a time whatever happened or whatever happens is just life!
How do tarot cards work?
Where do tarot cards get thier power from? I started using and all my predictions came out to be true. How do the cards know that? Is it magic?
Suggestion by onyxmoon369 Tarot works by helping you make a connection with your subconscious. When you shuffle the cards you are doing a type of instant meditation. Then you lay out the cards and begin to interpret the pictures. There are many types of decks, the most commonly used is known as the Ryder-Waite deck. The type you use depends on which ones seem to work the best for you. I have heard many different theories about how to handle the cards but for me the one thing that has helped me the most was this advise. When doing a reading, don’t try to analyze your answer. Say the first thing that comes to your mind without editing. Also, the tarot does not tell the future. It provides insight into the things that are happening in the life of the questioner and helps them to make an educated decision. Last but not least, anyone can read the tarot. The key is to be open to that little voice inside of you. If you are making accurate predictions with the cards you should be able to do so without the cards. It is just a matter of tapping into that part of the mind with that ability. Good luck in all of your future endeavors.
Suggestion by Tahuti Reincarnate Tarot is a psychological key. Like Gestalt…. but with a pre-set number of paintings (on cards) that are designed to access our psychological archetypes. http://www.amazon.com/Tarot-Way-Life-Jungian-Approach/dp/087728878X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1231162268&sr=8-3 Here is a book that approaches the tarot in a traditional Jungian-psychological fashion.
Suggestion by r there is more than one theory. according to some there is angel presiding Tarot divination, his name is Hru. by that ‘theory’ every time you do tarot divination, you are communicating with that angel. some consider this angel to be greek god Hermes, and other call him by egyptian god name of Thoth.
there are also ‘theories’ saying that by using tarot we are actually communicating with our unconscious mind, which is connected to global unconscious. it s like tarot is modem and global unconscious is internet, connected to everyones unconscious mind- personal data bases. look up K.G. Jung and his theories about unconscious (he is one of the fathers of psychology).
there are many other theories, i believe theres as much of them as there is tarot readers.
usually they dont exclude one another, i believe that truth is somewhere in between
